Hon Dapo Lam Kickstarts Constituency Development Programmes,Distributes Free WAEC GCE Forms To Students In Ibadan

The morale of brilliant but financially incapacitated students within Ibadan North East/ South East Federal constituency received a reassuring hope and lifeline when the Honourable member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina in line with his legislative oversight functions and fulfillment of electioneering promises to the advancement of education sector in the country today,Thursday 27th August purchased and distributed WAEC GCE 2015 forms for prospective students. 
 
The students were unconditionally selected from secondary schools within the 2 local governments that make up the federal constituency by relevant stakeholders under the “Omo Oloore Educational Development scheme” at his newly yet to be commissioned federal constituency office of Ibadan South East Local government area along Ile Titun area of Ibadan.
 
This gesture is aimed at motivating the students to strive hard towards excellence.
 
Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina also gave strong assurances of an imminent revolution in the education sector as it is the only tool for self sustenance and collective national growth which will place the country in an advantage position within the continent and the global world at large. 
 
In his brief speech at the memorable and epoch making event, Dapo Lam quoted Nelson Mandela famous words on the marble, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. I have come to realize that when you invest sufficiently in your child via education, you have thoroughly secured a future for yourself and generations yet unborn, he stressed further. I have been privilege to exploit untapped opportunities recently purposely because I am educated and that’s why I would as a Legislator do everything humanly possible to contribute immensely to the development of the educational sector within this constituency”
 
He promised to partner with relevant stakeholders for the actualization and implementation of resuscitating measures for a sustained growth in the education sector and to work in line with the manifesto of his party: APC at the National and State level, to reducing the level of illiteracy to the barest minimum in the country especially in his constituency.
 
On my part, ”I have also met with the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) in the two local government most recently, and ANCOPPS to see ways of
partnering together as a formidable and indivisible entity to bring the desired change within the best possible time to our constituency.
 
”So also, I would liase with other legislators especially with the House Committee on Education to ensure our government owned parastatals saddled with policies formulation and implementation perform their due obligations as gazetted in the acts establishing them.He thereafter promised to give scholarship to the best students during the examination.
 
He also charged parents to be alive to their responsibilities and admonish them to pay unparallel attention to the well being and welfare of their wards. He also used the occasion to unfold developmental plans which are his operational guidelines in transforming the fortune of his constituency. He further assured all categories of people within the federal constituency of his unalloyed commitment and passionate interest in giving adequate representation in the green chambers.
 
Mrs Adedayo who spoke on behalf of parents of the recipients eulogized
Hon Dapo Lam Adesina who he said his tireless effort at putting people’s interest first in all his legislative duties is unequalled. “We are very grateful to God and to the Honourable representing us, Dapo has shown us a new era in governance, where people’s interest comes first.
 
Mr Oluwaseyi Oduola who also spoke on behalf of the recipients prayed to God to grant the legislator resounding success in all his endeavors and advised all others to emulate and follow the footsteps of Hon. Adesina.He praised the federal legislator for the programme which he said is coming at a time when it is most needed.
 
Others present at the ceremony includes Chief Ayo Eniade,Mogaji Amusa Makinde,Chief Abolade Akinyemi,Alhaji Mufu Adisa,The chairmen of Apc in Ibadan South East and North East Local Government,Chairmen of the NUT of the two local governments, Chairmen of Community Development Council of Ibadan NE and SE Women,Youth Leaders,and leaders of the APC in the federal constituency.
