The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East\South East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Abuja, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina (Omo Oloore) on Wednesday 9th March, 2016 once again blazed the trail as he provided financial grant to support, improve or start-up businesses for 250 petty traders carefully selected within his constituency under the Omo – Oloore women Support Scheme to mark the 2016 international women’s day which is held on March 8th ,every year. He once again reiterated his readiness to challenge the status quo of docility, incompetence and non-performance in governance.

“During this critical time of starring economic realities where small businesses nationwide are challenged by financial constraints, I am resolute in my belief to reduce idleness, unemployment, hunger and poverty by assisting women with a substantial working capital to boost their businesses. I am launching this scheme today to fulfill one of the promises that is contained in my 8point integral action plan of my manifesto to the electorates, Hon. Adesina emphasized.

He further appealed to business women to make the best use of this rare privilege to preserve their businesses from economic meltdown as a result of negligence and poor handling of finances. This will be the first time a scheme of this nature and magnitude will be organized in our constituency, let us also make history with our creativity by multiplying the money into something great in the nearest future.

Speaking further, He said that a training session was organized for all the beneficiaries, handled by a professional in business management, which he described as the rudiment for any successful business to thrive, as they were exposed to practicable approaches to self reliance, financial discipline, starting small business theory, elementary business mathematics e.t.c.

The beneficiaries were selected from all the 24 wards of the federal constituency across the two local governments of Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East ranging from market women associations, youth organizations, political parties representatives, community development council, interest groups etc.
