Over 20 Schools Benefit From Omo Oloore Sports Development Scheme

Not less than 20 schools (Secondary and Primary) within Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency have benefitted from the Omo Oloore Sports Development Scheme during the Schools’ Annual Inter-House Sports Competitions.

Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina, a Member of the House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency stated that the development of Schools Sports is one of the key programmes of Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s administration to resurrect sporting activities across the State.

Omo Oloore in his messages at various venues of the competitions congratulated the Management, Principals, Head teachers, Staffs and the entire students of all the schools for organising a well packaged, competitive and coordinated inter-house sports competitions.

While donating giant trophies, balls and cash gifts to Principals and Head teachers of the various schools as part of his interventions to keep sporting activities alive in their schools, Hon. Dapo Lam admonished them to focus more attention on the development of sports in order to discover hidden talents that will enhance the growth of sports not only in the state but the country at large.

The former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the State who outlined the importance of sporting activities stated that regular exercise through sports, apart from making positive impacts in the life of children and adult, is also an avenue to enhance physical, mental and social skills.

While promising not to relent in his efforts towards ensuring that youth development through sports is sustained in the Constituency, Omo Oloore enjoined the Schools Sports Managers to ensure that budding talents discovered are nurtured to prominence.

In their various remarks, Chairmen, Schools Governing Boards, Principals, Head Teachers and government representatives commended Hon. Dapo Lam for identifying with the youth, with a view to challenging them to become successful in life. They prayed that God will continue to support Omo Oloore in his political aspirations.

In the meantime, Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina has set machineries in motion to organize the first edition of Omo Oloore School Sports Competition among public/private secondary and public/private primary schools within the constituency. The sports fiesta is an initiative designed to discover, encourage and promote budding talents that will the constituency proud at the national and international tournaments.

Some of the Schools that benefited are Ibadan Grammar School, Molete, St. David’s High School, Kudeti, Adelagun Memorial Grammar School, Odinjo, St. Luke’s Group of Schools, Molete,  Oke-‘Badan High School, Oluyoro Oke-Offa, United Secondary School, Agugu, Oluyoro Girls Grammar School, Padre, Oke-Offa, Army Barrack’s Grammar School, Iwo-Road, Anglican Grammar School, Molete and Olubi Memorial Grammar School, Molete among others.
