Parents, Teachers Rejoice As Dapo-Lam Splashes 60 ePads, Modern Learning Tools On Students For Quiz, Debate Competition

In consolidation of his collaborative efforts in raising the standard of education in his constituency, the member of the national assembly representing Ibadan North East / South East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina on Monday overwhelmed the participants of the quiz and debate organized for the students of the both public and private primary and secondary schools across his jurisdiction with over 60 units of the ePad tablets and lot more lofty educational tools.

This year academic contests afforded the finalists of over 120 participated schools amongst which were Samuel Ayodele Primary School, Osungbade, Christ Church School, Odinjo, Ebire Creche, Felele, Periscope Basic School, Yejide Girls’ Grammar School, Anglican Grammar School, Queen of Apostle Commercial School, Mufutau Lanihun Comprehensive College, Emerald Laurel College, Solam Model College and others to battle for the prime prizes of the different categories in the competition.

Hon. Dapo Lam while addressing the newsmen stated that the program was in line with his election promise to always give necessary support to the executive arms of government at all levels in redeeming the lost glory of the education and reawakening leadership skills amongst the young scholars under the Omo Oloore Educational Support Scheme.

He said “this year edition is the third since my election as the member representing Ibadan North East / South East federal constituency in Abuja and as a lover of education and a son of teacher to be specific, I found it expedient to see to the qualitative and sound education of younger ones and my impacts in the sector since 2015 till date are unprecedented, ameliorating and yielding results ”, he concluded.

The keen analytic and oratory contest which was held at the Wesley College’s Hall, Elekuro at the end produced Samuel Ayodele Primary School, Osungbade-Kudeti and Yejide Girls’ Grammar School, Molete as winners for the public schools categories while Emerald Laurel College and Ebire Crèche Felele clinched the coveted prizes for the private schools categories respectively.

This year edition of Omo Oloore quiz and debate competition attracted different set of seasoned academics, stakeholders in the education sector; Nigeria Union of Teachers( NUT), Local Inspector of Education (LIE), Association of Primary School Headteachers(AOPSHON), All Nigeria Conference of Principal of Secondary Schools(ANCOPSS), executives of Community Development Council(CDC) and many respected leaders and teeming members of the All Progressives Congress, APC across Ibadan south east and north east local government areas.
