The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency in the House of Representatives Abuja, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina has once again come to the aid of victims of the December 16th, 2015 fire disaster that engulfed a larger section of the Oranyan market in Ibadan.
In bringing the needed intervention, Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina had in company of the Assistant Zonal Coordinator (South West) of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Adebiyi Babatunde on Tuesday 2nd February,2016 visited the Oranyan market located in Ibadan North East local government to inspect and access the level of damage done by the inferno, quantify the loss suffered by the traders and also give a reassuring message to bring relief materials to their aid soonest.
 
While conducting the NEMA officials round the market in company of the affected traders and executives of the market association, Hon. Adesina recalled how he swung into action by communicating in writing with the NEMA office at Abuja immediately after inspecting the market, evaluating several millions of goods and properties lost to the sad incident.
 
In his words, “we have promised before the election to ensure qualitative and responsive representation, it is our desire to partner with all major stakeholders to attract federal presence into our communities whenever the needs arise”.  I will ensure we keep NEMA on their toes so that they can speedily fulfill their promise, Adesina added Omo Oloore also used the opportunity to thank NEMA for the prompt response to his letter.
 
Addressing the press shortly after the inspection, the Head of the NEMA inspection team, Mr. Adebiyi eulogized the Honourable for showing great concern for his constituents and sympathize with the victims and assured them of government assistance which will be communicated and transferred to them in due course after all necessary documentation have been completed. He also enjoined the traders to be safety conscious and partner with insurance companies to avert such disaster in the future.
 
However in another development,Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina paid an unscheduled visit to the correspondence chapel office of the NUJ at Mokola in Ibadan on the same day.
 
While addressing the journalists he said “As representatives of different media organizations, we all need to partner with the Muhamadu Buhari led Federal government if truly we want Nigeria to come out of this present economic comatose. Let’s us keep praying for the President and support his anti-corruption drive in all sectors to resuscitate a critically ill Nation”
 
Comrade Ola Ajayi, the Chairman of the chapel and other members expressed surprise at his visit but was however full of praises and poured encomiums on the young lawmaker who they described as a passionate lover of his people. You are a goal getter, jinx breaker and worthy political ambassador of the upcoming generation. You have shown courage and unparalleled zeal over time in your assignment to represent your people, Ajayi added.
