Commercial and vehicular activities at Felele, the neighborhood of late former Governor Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina’s residence were on Friday brought to a halt for several hours as exhilarated crowd trooped out to collect cash, rams and staple food gifts from Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina, the member representing Ibadan North East / South East federal constituency, Abuja for the Ileya festival celebration.
The impressive turn out of people to the event was dominated by the massive promoters of the Unity Forum and others rooting the newly enlivened African Democratic Congress(ADC) in the constituency and beyond was greeted with celebrations and fanfares as the gathering inadvertently turned a carnival with different songs of joy.
Hon. Dapo-Lam in his expression thanked the people of his constituency for their love, cooperation and support towards his strides in the human, social and community development across the 24 wards of his constituency.
He commended the members of his late father political clan popularly called Lamists for their loyalty and upliftment of the legacies left behind by the late former governor which serve as reference points for exemplary leadership.
He cautioned the crowd from turning the get together show into a political rally but hinted them to be expectant of heartbreaking revelations regarding the unfortunate hallucinations hovering the state political space importantly by mischief makers in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
He implored his constituents to remain resilient and committed to his struggles at the national assembly to do more in bettering the lot of all and sundry in the social and economic affairs through the impactful and purposeful representations.
Dapo-Lam passionately charged the ecstatic crowd not forget to enrol and mobilize people for the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration by the Independent Electoral Commission(INEC) in order to have the right to participate and elect right candidates into various elective posts in the next general elections.
He at the end of the speech announced a sum of #2.4million with two of bag of rice each for the members of the party in Ibadan North East / South East local government respectively while those of executive officers and leaders are not announced as different group of artisans, market bodies and others were also given cash and staple food gifts to celebrate the coming sallah festival.
The epoch making event as well afforded the various of artisans, market men and women to appreciate the continued ameliorating gestures of the honourable and restate their support for his continuity through the 2019 general elections. Yesterday occasion was graced by political stalwarts from the camp of former Governor Rashidi Ladoja, Former Deputy Governor Taofeek Arapaja and a host of others asides teeming members of the Unity Forum of the enervating APC.
