For the purpose of ensuring security of lives and properties of the people of Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina, Member, representing the Constituency at the House of Representatives has embarked on installation of automatic fire extinguishing balls across markets in the Constituency with a view to addressing the problem of incessant fire out-breaks.
The official flag-off of the installation of the automatic fire extinguishing balls, which was held at the Araromi Spare Parts Market, Agodi Gate on Saturday, April 6, 2018 witnessed the presence of top government functionaries, market and political leaders in the State, such as Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Planning, Dr. Isiaka Kolawole, Special Adviser on Political Matters, Shakrullahi Fajimi, Chief Ayo Eniade,Babaloja of Oyo State, Alhaji Dauda Oladapo and Iyaloja of Ibadanland, Alhaja Iswat Ameringun,Chairman of Ibadan East LCDA,Prince Gbade Lana and Hon Abod Alatishe.
While speaking on what brought about the fire extinguishing ball initiative, Omo Oloore disclosed that he is always sad whenever he hears about fire outbreak incidents, particularly at market environments which always lead to loss of goods and properties worth millions of naira.
Omo Oloore emphasized further that in his bid to holistically tackle the incessant fire outbreaks in the Country, he has presented a bill on how to improve the operations of Fire Services across the Country at the floor of the House of Representatives, Abuja.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Planning, Dr. Isiaka Kolawole in his goodwill message applauded Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina for taking the bold step to curb the menace of fire outbreaks in the Country and attributed the success of Omo Oloore to the good foundation laid by his father, Alhaji Lam Adesina during his life time.
Alhaji Dauda Oladapo, Babaloja of Oyo State and Alhaja Iswat Ameringun in their messages praised Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina for making the welfare and security of market men and women in his Constituency a priority in his programme. They enjoined the leaders of Araromi Spare Parts Market, Agodi Gate to make proper use of the fire equipment.
Mr. Awoyinka Taiwo, who led the team that represented the Director General, Fire Services of Oyo State, appreciated Omo Oloore for joining hands with the State government to reduce incidents of fire disaster in the State.
He advised the leadership of the market to make use of the extinguisher balls in accordance with laid down instructions.
The President of the market, Alhaji Azeez Ojo in his welcome address appreciated the efforts of Omo Oloore towards the development of Araromi Spare Parts market and other markets in his Constituency.
He pledged the support of the people of Araromi Spare Parts Market to Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina.
The programme witnessed the presence of representatives from the Oyo State Fire Service, Leaders and Members of the All Progressive Congress, Oyo State, Leaders of various markets across Ibadan Land, Representatives of the Hausa Community and Chairmen and Members of the Community Development Councils in Ibadan North East and South East Local Governments.
